These 1852-55 Harrwitz Staunton Chess Pieces chess pieces are a reproduction of Circa series .
The original Harrwitz series was made with a 3.5″ King, thus justifying the size of its reproduction.
These chess pieces have wide, squatty bases and a low center of gravity, thus making them very stable and perform brilliantly on a chess board.
All chess pieces are Weighted by adding a stud of iron within the base. Each of Fierce knight Chessmen has green felt to prevent the damage of the chessboard surface.
